Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements for enhancement of safety, quality, cost, reduction, and throughput. This position will identify, prepare justifications, and coordinate the design and development of new processes, systems, and equipment - both automated and non-automated. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of manufacturing to provide effective support and troubleshooting.

Core Functions
• Manage overall production flow, floor layouts, and labor reduction efforts.
• Recommend changes, prepare cost justifications, and coordinate the design and development of new processes fixtures, equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Lead large-scale automation projects. Work with the systems integrator to ensure the systems are designed, built, and installed correctly and meet all technical performance criteria throughout the program life.
• Take ownership of managing key company-wide strategic manufacturing engineering projects, overseeing all aspects of time, financial, and resource allocations.
• Develop and oversee engineering plans and lead the identification of breakthrough manufacturing opportunities at scale that can be solved through enhancement of manufacturing processes and are consistent with a zero-defect level and low product cost.
• Lead others to find innovative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Utilize sophisticated operational, manufacturing or engineering techniques.
• Collaborate with adjacent functions to solve issues; utilize internal and external resources outside of own function to help determine a solution.
• Ensure all manufacturing engineering projects fit within the overall company strategy and provide support to product design engineering and production during the hand-off of a new product.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field is required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Lean or similar Continuous Improvement knowledge and experience is required.
• CAD/CAM software experience is required.
• Experience with a maintenance software tool preferred.
• ERP or manufacturing software experience preferred.

Travel:

Occasional travel is required, between local ARE facilities (within a 2-mile radius of one another).
