Full Job Description
We are looking to add a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge manufacturing processes for high-reliability, high-volume satellites, we would like to hear from you.

In this position, you will lead the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production methods for products and platforms. This role contributes to manufacturing operations by developing complex manufacturing solutions, resolving technical challenges, and validating manufacturing processes that ensure products satisfy engineering, manufacturing, quality, and cost requirements.

Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams, this role supports manufacturing engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop manufacturing processes, production workflows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions supporting complex products and assemblies.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, process evaluations, time studies, and capacity analyses to improve production performance.
  • Evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and manufacturing requirements while resolving moderately complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Conduct manufacturing process validation, equipment qualification, first article builds, and production readiness activities.
  • Evaluate production performance, manufacturing data, process capability, and quality metrics while resolving moderately complex manufacturing issues.
  • Validate manufacturing processes through root cause investigations, engineering changes, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, production control, and operations teams, providing manufacturing engineering support.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation, work instructions, engineering reports, and process flows, shaping content and format based on program needs.
  • Support design reviews, manufacturing reviews, engineering investigations, and new product introduction activities by providing manufacturing engineering guidance.
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation, process records, and configuration-controlled technical information.
  • Evaluate manufacturing methodologies and production processes to identify improvements.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance manufacturability, quality, and production readiness.


JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
  • Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with cost analysis, managing suppliers, and configuration management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Statistical process control.
  • Experience in aerospace or other high-reliability industries.
  • Proficiency with PLM and ERP software.
  • Proficiency in AS9100/ISO9001 quality management system requirements.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience successfully tackling multiple high-priority tasks.


$113,000 - $136,000 a year
