POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The Senior Warehouse Manager reports to the Director, Warehouse
  • Located in Bellingham
  • Full-Time

The Senior Warehouse Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of warehouse operations at our distribution center. This senior-level position involves strategic planning, leadership, and execution to ensure the efficient movement of goods, compliance with regulations, and delivery of exceptional service to customers. The Senior Warehouse Manager leads a team of warehouse professionals, manages inventory, coordinates logistics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for warehouse operations to align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and cycle counting, to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Implement best practices for inventory management, including ABC analysis, JIT inventory, and FIFO/LIFO principles.

Logistics Coordination:
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, shipping, and receiving, to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

Process Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within warehouse operations, such as layout optimization, automation, and technology integration.
  • Implement lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.

Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for warehouse staff.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, training sessions, and inspections to promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence.

Customer Service Excellence:
  • Maintain a customer-centric focus by ensuring on-time delivery, accurate order fulfillment, and responsiveness to customer inquiries and requests.


COMPETENCIES:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and logistics best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading teams and driving results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory control principles, including inventory optimization, cycle counting, and stock rotation.
  • Expertise in coordinating inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation scheduling, routing, and carrier management.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training to promote a culture of safety awareness among warehouse staff.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • 8 - 12 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or a similar role, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Experience implementing lean principles, process improvement methodologies, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Certification in warehouse management or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Bend or twist body.
  • Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools. or controls.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Keep or regain their balance.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.

Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related compensatory factors.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
