Full Job Description
Location
Salt Lake City/Lehi, Utah or Phoenix, Arizona (hybrid/in-office expectations based on business needs). Occasional travel for collaboration with Partners, clients, and firm leadership.

Opportunity
This is a hands-on client engagement and people-leadership role for an experienced valuation professional who excels at managing complex projects, leading teams, maintaining technical quality, and delivering excellent client service.

The primary focus of the position is successful engagement execution, team development, and continuous improvement. The Senior Manager will also have opportunities to support client development and thought leadership as part of their continued professional growth.

Professional Responsibilities

Engagement Leadership and Delivery
  • Lead business valuation engagements for tax, financial reporting, transaction due diligence, litigation, strategic planning, shareholder and ownership matters, and other advisory purposes.
  • Manage multiple client engagements from planning through delivery including scope, staffing, budgets, schedules, milestones, risk identification, and client communication.
  • Develop and oversee financial models utilizing income, market, and asset-based valuation methodologies.
  • Direct the preparation and review of valuation analyses, reports, exhibits and other client deliverables to ensure technical quality, accuracy, consistency and compliance with applicable professional and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate project status, issues, recommendations and valuation findings with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve engagement issues promptly, escalating significant technical, commercial, or client relationship matters when appropriate.
  • Help maintain and improve engagement tools, templates, quality-control processes, and professional standards.
People Leadership
  • Plan staffing and delegate work based on engagement needs, team capacity, and opportunities for development.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of valuation team members, providing timely feedback, technical guidance, and practical support.
  • Build team capability through on-the-job development, knowledge sharing, and participation in internal training.
  • Foster an accountable and collaborative environment in which team members understand expectations, raise issues early, and produce high-quality work.
  • Support performance and career-development conversations in coordination with practice and firm leadership.
Client Service and Practice Development
  • Build trusted working relationships by understanding client needs, setting clear expectations, and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with Partners and other client service professionals on proposals, scoping, presentations, and follow-up activities.
  • Support business development by identifying additional client needs during engagements and sharing those opportunities with the appropriate relationship leaders.
  • Contribute to practice-development activities, which may include internal training, recruiting, technical content, professional events, articles, and other thought-leadership initiatives.
  • Expand client leadership, business-development, and external-profile responsibilities over time, based on individual strengths, interests, experience, and the needs of the practice

The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field
  • ASA, ABV, CFA, or similar professional credentials are required. Advanced degree in finance, business or economics preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant valuation and corporate finance experience with significant experience leading complex business valuation engagements.
  • Experience performing and managing valuations for a broad range of purposes, including financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, transaction due diligence, tax planning and compliance, litigation and dispute resolution, strategic planning, shareholder and ownership matters and intangible assets.
  • Experience applying income, market, and asset-based valuation approaches, including discounted cash flow, guideline public company, guideline transaction, excess earnings, relief-from-royalty, with-and-without, comparative sales, replacement cost, and capital asset pricing model methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing valuation analyses and client deliverables and explaining technical conclusions to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring, and developing valuation team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
