Based in Toronto, Ontario, the
Senior Manager for T&D Stations Engineering role offers the chance to work at the heart of utility operations- collaborating directly with client engineering, planning, construction, and operational teams. You will lead complex, high-impact infrastructure programs, guiding multidisciplinary teams and delivering safe, reliable, and future-ready power solutions across Canada.
Lead the strategic direction of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) station engineering-guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, execution-ready conceptual designs that enable major capital projects across Ontario. In this senior leadership role, you'll champion innovation and continuous improvement, strengthen engineering standards, and empower teams to challenge assumptions as we modernize the power system for long-term reliability and performance.
Your Impact- Set strategic direction for the Tx and Dx station conceptual engineering portfolio, aligning priorities to business unit goals and evolving technologies.
- Lead and develop high-performing, multidisciplinary teams (including external design partners) to deliver defined, constructable conceptual solutions that transition seamlessly into detailed design.
- Drive technical excellence by overseeing conceptual designs, estimates, specifications, and engineering instructions for projects of major complexity.
- Specify and standardize major power equipment, supporting strategic sourcing through technical specifications, tender evaluations, selection, and acceptance activities.
- Champion safety and compliance by ensuring conceptual solutions address constructability and meet all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen collaboration across engineering disciplines, project planning, and delivery teams-clarifying roles, accountabilities, and communication channels to support project success.
- Advance operational excellence through continuous improvement, benchmarking, and integration of industry best practices into standards, templates, and engineering processes.
- Provide oversight and governance across budgets, resource utilization, quality assurance, and performance reporting-surfacing risks, progress, and recommendations to leadership.
The Skills That Set You Apart- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with progressive experience delivering T&D substation or station projects.
- At least 15+ years of proven leadership experience at a senior management level leading and managing engineering teams on complex infrastructure programs.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution station design, protection and control, and applicable utility standards.
- Experience working with utilities, regulators, and contractors in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrated capability to develop multi-year (2-5 year) business plans, forecasts, and budgets grounded in customer needs and changing technologies.
- Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking, communication, and people leadership.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical engineering practice, including field or site exposure as required.

$135,200 - $179,100MB & ON:
$123,300 - $169,800NB, NL, NS, PE & QC:
