Join Aprio's Client Accounting Services (CAS) team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Client Lead Senior Manager serves as the lead accounting authority and strategic advisor for a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality financial oversight within an outsourced environment. This role is responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, effectiveness of internal controls, and performance of accounting operations across multiple engagements.

Acting as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, the Client Lead Senior Manager translates financial data into actionable insights, drives process improvements, and leads internal teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes aligned with client objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close Oversight
  • Oversees the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and US GAAP compliance
  • Reviews consolidated financials, including multi-entity and multi-department reporting, and ensures consistency across reporting structures
  • Establishes close processes, timelines, and quality standards across client portfolios
  • Evaluates financial results, variance drivers, and key performance indicators to ensure alignment with business expectations
  • Participation in preparation of schedules or deliverables

Accounting Operations & Process Leadership
  • Provides oversight of core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing cycles
  • Designs and implements scalable accounting processes and operating models to support client growth
  • Monitors operational performance and identifies opportunities for efficiency, automation, and system optimization
  • Ensures appropriate accounting treatment, chart of accounts structure, and system configuration across engagements
  • Leads issue resolution across accounting operations, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of complex matters

Internal Controls & Risk Management
  • Designs, implements, and maintains internal control frameworks across client environments
  • Establishes policies, procedures, and governance structures to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance
  • Reviews control effectiveness and remediates deficiencies as needed
  • Oversees adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and client-specific reporting obligations

Client Advisory & Strategic Partnership
  • Serves as a senior advisor to client leadership (CEOs, CFOs, founders), providing strategic financial insight and guidance
  • Translates financial results into clear, actionable narratives, including cash flow trends, operational performance, and growth implications
  • Proactively advises clients on financial strategy, working capital management, and operational decision-making
  • Identifies risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement, delivering forward-looking recommendations
  • Supports clients in aligning financial infrastructure with business scale and complexity

Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight
  • Leads and develops accounting teams responsible for execution, review, and delivery across client portfolios
  • Establishes review standards and ensures quality, consistency, and timeliness of all deliverables
  • Allocates resources effectively across engagements, balancing capacity, risk, and client priorities
  • Provides coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback to team members
  • Creates accountability structures to ensure all deliverables meet defined service levels and quality expectations
  • Involvement in issue resolution across operational accounting

Portfolio & Engagement Management
  • Oversees a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring delivery aligns with contractual commitments (MSAs) and internal standards
  • Maintains awareness of scope, deliverables, and timelines; proactively manages risks related to scope creep and delivery gaps
  • Drives accountability for on-time delivery, quality output, and overall engagement health
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated delivery across service lines

Systems, Technology & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluates and implements accounting systems and reporting tools (e.g., ERP, financial planning platforms) to enhance delivery
  • Drives adoption of automation, reporting efficiencies, and best-in-class technology solutions
  • Leads system improvements, integrations, and process redesign to support scalability
  • Ensures optimal use of financial systems to support reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Business Development & Growth Support
  • Identifies opportunities to expand client relationships through additional advisory and accounting services
  • Supports proposal development, solution design, and scoping for new and existing clients
  • Contributes to client retention through high-quality delivery and strategic relationship management


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting functions at a controller or equivalent level
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition and complex accounting areas
  • Experience overseeing multi-entity, multi-system, or high-growth environments
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with a strong focus on quality and accountability
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g. NetSuite, QBO, Xero, AI-native finance tools) and reporting tools
  • Experience with system implementations, process optimization, and scaling accounting functions
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
  • Experience in eCommerce, technology, or inventory-based businesses preferred

$150,000 - $200,000 a year

The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
