Full Job Description
The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting will be a key contributor to the Financial Reporting team, supporting the Director of Financial Reporting. The highly-visible role creates value for Company and its stakeholders, including investors, lenders and regulators, through accurate and efficient preparation of internal financial statements and other reports. This person will also assist with the implementation and ongoing application of various accounting policies to provide Management with the necessary information to make the best decision for the business. To successfully fulfil the position's responsibilities, the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting will work with professionals in departments throughout the Company and engage with various external parties and subject matter experts. The Senior Manager must possess technical competence (i.e. able to perform accounting research and draft supporting memos for Management, the Auditor and similar parties) must be strategically oriented (i.e. able to analyze data, application of accounting standards and define/solve problems).

Special focus will be placed on:

  • Research complex accounting, disclosure, and reporting matters.
  • Draft technical accounting memoranda and position papers supporting accounting conclusions.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource across the accounting and finance organization.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and lead implementation efforts as necessary.
  • Advise and provide support in the preparation, review and analysis of external financial statements and other capital market transaction filings as they arise including prospectuses, registration statements, etc. that are customary for public companies active in the acquisition, divestiture and management of assets.
  • Prepare financial statements for ad hoc requests related to contemplated transactions and financing arrangements. These may include assisting in the preparation of carve-out financial statements for acquisition targets, for debt compliance reporting and similar needs.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements across multiple legal entities.
  • Coordinate with Treasury, Legal, and external advisors on debt related reporting matters.
  • Assist in planning, testing, and implementing various system changes and other ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team as they prepare monthly management reporting packages.
  • 7+ years combined public accounting (preferably in a "Big 4" firm) and corporate technical accounting experience (i.e., familiarity with GAAP and financial reporting experience)
  • 7+ years of SEC / public company reporting experience (10-Q's, 10-K's, 8-K's and Proxy Statements)
  • Exposure to acquisition accounting and capital markets transactions
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree preferred CPA, preferred
  • Experience with Workiva and XBRL is a plus
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong computer application skills such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Must be able to multi-task and balance multiple high-priority tasks
  • Strong knowledge of internal control over financial reporting and the requirements customary for public companies
