Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead Form Energy's Factory Test Engineering & Operations organization.
  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for test engineering, covering subscale to full system validation.
  • Recruit, structure, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
  • Design and operate a best-in-class test infrastructure that supports various levels of testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integrated testing solutions across R&D, product design, processes, operations, and quality teams.
  • Establish systems and metrics for data analysis, traceability, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and drive the organizational culture, processes, and standards to foster technical excellence and innovation.

Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an exceptional Test Engineering Leader to architect and build the company's Systems Test Organization from the ground up. This leader will define and implement the vision, strategy, and execution of integration-level test objectives.

As a member of the leadership team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape a world-class testing capability at the intersection of R&D and product engineering. You will build a team, systems, and culture that anchor quality and learning in everything we make.

This opportunity is based out of the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for system-level test engineering.
  • Recruit, structure, and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
  • Design and operate best-in-class test equipment that supports:
    • Subscale electrode testing for process validation.
    • Cell and module testing for process validation and on-going reliability testing.
    • Auxiliary system testing for product verification testing.
    • Pack and quad-pack testing for product verification and validation testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, product design, process engineering, operations, reliability, and quality teams to deliver integrated testing solutions.
  • Establish systems and metrics for data analysis, traceability, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and drive organizational culture, processes, and standards that foster technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.


What You'll Bring:
  • 10+ years of experience in Test Engineering, with strong exposure to product development.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience building and scaling technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing, commissioning, and operating engineering test assets.
  • Expertise in battery systems, electrical and mechanical testing, and test data analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, establish structure, and execute with precision.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical field
Where you'll work:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
