Position Summary:
As the Senior Solution Marketing Manager - Orthopedics, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)s, and Women's Health, you will play a leading role in shaping go-to-market (GTM) strategy and own positioning, messaging, and commercial enablement for athenahealth's specialty solutions across these priority specialty markets.

This role is responsible for developing and operationalizing messaging and content that resonates with specialty buyers and enables Sales to win. You will bridge product value and market execution, translating product capabilities into clear, differentiated narratives that support Sales effectiveness and improve marketing performance.

You will partner closely with Product Strategy (product value), Segment Marketing (GTM strategy & audience) and Sales (execution in market), and executive stakeholders across the business to ensure messaging and content are clear, compelling, and actionable.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Play a leading role in shaping and influencing the GTM strategy for Orthopedics, ASC, and Women's Health markets, including audience segmentation, prioritization, and value proposition development
  • Partner with Segment Marketing to translate audience insights and market opportunities into effective messaging and execution plans
  • Translate company and product strategy into specialty-relevant narratives and commercial motions
  • Identify growth opportunities, market gaps, and performance challenges, and recommend strategic actions that improve specialty market performance in partnership with Segment Marketing and commercial teams
  • Apply a data-driven, test-and-learn approach to refine messaging, content, and enablement effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain specialty-specific positioning, messaging, and narrative frameworks for Orthopedics, ASC, and Women's Health audiences
  • Translate complex product capabilities, workflows, and services into clear, differentiated value for specialty healthcare buyers and decision makers
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across campaigns, sales materials, and customer-facing content, and executive communications
  • Incorporate customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence, and commercial feedback into ongoing refinement
  • Develop specialty-specific proof points, customer stories, and value narratives that strengthen athenahealth's market differentiation
  • Equip Sales and Customer Success teams with specialty-specific messaging, insights, and tools to improve sales effectiveness and win rates
  • Create high-impact enablement assets including pitch decks, battlecards, talk tracks, objection handling guidance, and customer proof points
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales leadership, providing specialty market insights, competitive perspectives, and messaging guidance that improve commercial effectiveness
  • Partner with Training & Enablement to scale specialty knowledge transfer and reinforce GTM strategy across customer-facing teams
  • Establish feedback loops with commercial teams to continuously refine messaging, uncover market needs, and improve customer engagement

  • Partner with Segment Marketing to support campaign execution through messaging, content and audience insights

  • Support launches and strategic growth initiatives by ensuring alignment across messaging, targeting, enablement, and commercial readiness
  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert on Orthopedics, ASC, and Women's Health buyer needs, workflows, market dynamics, and competitive trends
  • Develop deep expertise in Orthopedics, ASC, and Women's Health markets, including buyer needs, operational challenges, reimbursement trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Monitor market developments, customer sentiment, and emerging competitors to identify growth opportunities and risks
  • Deliver actionable market and competitive insights that inform messaging, positioning, sales execution, content development, and strategic decision-making
  • Partner with leadership teams to strengthen athenahealth's competitive differentiation within specialty markets

Expected Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in solution marketing, product marketing, growth marketing, segment marketing, go-to-market strategy, or related commercial roles
  • Healthcare technology, healthcare services, SaaS, or healthcare IT experience required
  • Experience supporting specialty healthcare markets, ambulatory care, physician practice operations, or complex B2B markets preferred
  • Demonstrated experience shaping go-to-market strategies, developing market-facing narratives market-facing narratives, and sales enablement content that drive commercial outcomes
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to drive market adoption and business growth
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate market insights into actionable GTM plans
  • Deep understanding of marketing performance metrics, pipeline dynamics, funnel conversion, and GTM optimization
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional alignment across highly matrixed organizations
  • Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level messaging, storytelling, and presentation development
  • Influences strategic decisions through deep market expertise, customer insight, and competitive intelligence

Expected Compensation
$95,000 - $161,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
