Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs Liaison

Within Capital One, the Regulatory Affairs function at Capital One is responsible for managing all interactions with Federal Banking Regulators. We provide key advisory consulting to senior management with respect to supervision and evolving regulatory issues, while also supporting policy development and risk management thought leadership. 

We are seeking a Senior Manager to play a significant role in ensuring Capital One proactively responds to the changing regulatory environment and delivers on commitments to regulators in a timely manner. This role involves engagement with senior leaders and regulators, and provides the opportunity for growth in the regulatory affairs and risk management organizations.

  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to lead with empathy when working with internal and external stakeholders, and thrive in building and cultivating collaborative relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and foster productive relationships and interactions between consumer business functions and Federal Regulatory supervisory staff.

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic advisory services to senior management and other stakeholders regarding the regulatory environment and supervisory matters. 

  • Identify potential risk areas and advise on corrective actions, ensuring they are monitored and on-track for timely and effective mitigation.

  • Establish and maintain standardized routines, workflows, and governance processes in close coordination with other internal functions to support external engagement

  • Lead the coordination of timely and accurate responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and reporting requirements, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.

  • Support the quality and timely submission of regulatory responses by reviewing materials for completeness and consistency prior to submission.

  • Driving and coordinating internal reporting to senior management across the enterprise, synthesizing complex regulatory developments into clear, concise, and actionable summaries. 


Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in banking or financial services, risk management, audit, consulting, regulatory agencies, or a combination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience coordinating and reporting to multi-functional teams.

  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects or programs with tight deadlines where senior leaders and external stakeholders are your customers.

  • At least 5 years of experience with consumer credit products and associated regulatory frameworks and risk management practices.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr Mgr, Regulatory RelationsRichmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr Mgr, Regulatory Relations


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
