Full Job Description
The Senior Manager, Disaster Response and Giving Programs will lead key areas of Walmart.org's disaster portfolio, including response and preparedness grantmaking, community support, volunteer programs, donated merchandise, and Walmart Giving's work in the Global Security Operations Center during emergency activations.
Initially, this role will support the Disaster Resilience Team, leading projects and coordinating FY27 priorities then transition in FY28.
Combining strategic thinking with strong execution, the role will develop program and funding recommendations, build partnerships with nonprofits, state and community leaders, and across Walmart, and apply insights from disaster resilience to strengthen support for communities before, during, and after disasters.

What you'll do:
  • Lead Walmart Giving's disaster response and community support, coordinating emergency activations, assessing needs, deploying philanthropic resources, and ensuring partners and processes are ready.
  • Support the Disaster Resilience Team for six months, leading FY27 workstreams and cross-functional projects before transitioning to Walmart.org in FY28.
  • Manage disaster grantmaking and nonprofit partnerships, including partner selection, due diligence, compliance, performance, preparedness, and long-term recovery.
  • Lead general merchandise donations, coordinating partners and processes to efficiently move products into communities.
  • Help shape disaster strategy, translating community, partner, and activation insights into program and funding decisions.
  • Support enterprise disaster priorities, bringing philanthropic resources, nonprofit relationships, and community expertise to disaster resilience initiatives.

  • Experience leading complex programs, portfolios, or initiatives in philanthropy, disaster response, community impact, nonprofit, corporate, or related environments.
  • Ability to shape strategy and translate community, partner, and field insights into actionable programs and investments.
  • Experience managing philanthropic grants, nonprofit partnerships, and time-sensitive projects.
  • Strong judgment in complex, fast-moving, and ambiguous situations.
  • Skilled at navigating matrixed organizations and influencing without direct authority.
  • Experience supporting emergency operations, incident coordination, or cross-functional response.
  • Ability to balance empathy with operational discipline, compliance, and accountability.
  • Strong executive communication and project management skills with senior leaders and external partners.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
