Full Job Description
Overview This position provides strategic direction and technical leadership for the Company's Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS), risk management activities, operational performance, and continuous improvement efforts related to of pipeline safety. Responsibilities include directing activities including, but not limited to oversight of PSMS maturity, risk assessment, quality assurance, management of change, standard/procedure development/tracking, incident and action-item tracking, data analysis and performance reporting in support of the ongoing management of pipeline safety and risk reduction. This position will communicates findings and recommendations to various groups within the company including to Senior Management. Additionally, this position will represent the company to external industry groups and organizations. #INDLGE #LG&EKU Responsibilities • Provides strategic direction for the Company's PSMS, including long-term objectives, performance monitoring, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture and drive sustainable pipeline safety performance. • Leads standards/procedures development, review and communication of changes to appropriate departments • Leads controlled document review process • Provides cross-functional leadership to ensure consistent integration of PSMS principles, risk management practices, and lessons learned across all Gas Operations functions. • Promotes a positive pipeline safety culture by fostering employee engagement, operational learning, hazard recognition, and proactive risk identification throughout Gas Operations. • Provides direction on establishing criteria for and maintaining a Management of Change process and may have responsibility for administering all or part of this process • Provides direction on tracking incidents and associated action items • Provides guidance to centralize quality assurance activities for procedures, construction standards and other items occurring within Gas Operations • Responsible for communicating risk analysis to various levels within the organization • Participates in industry organizations and on committees to remain current with industry PSMS implementations and actions • Provides strategic direction for quality control activities • Provides direction on budgetary needs to support objectives of responsibilities • Assists with the development of goals, objectives, budgets and programs, as required to support company goals and objectives including remaining in compliance with federal and state regulations. • Plans and controls activities so as to provide an accident-free work place. • Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations • Performs other duties as assigned • Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree preferably in Engineering (or related science i.e. Mathematics/Statistics), Business, or Organization Development Required Experience 10+ years work-related experience in utility industry with a Safety Management Program (i.e., nuclear generation, chemical, aeronautic, or aerospace). Preferred Qualifications • Ability to utilize statistical methods in providing data analysis used for program reporting and communication with other Gas Operations and Company groups. • Experience in business process improvement, regulatory compliance, distribution operations, and working knowledge of associated computer/mobile applications • Ability to develop Business Case Analysis that aid in decision making and for presentation to Senior Management. • Working knowledge of API-1173. • Demonstrated proficiency and/or working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, GIS systems and other applications as needed.
