Senior Manager, People Partner

The Senior Manager, People Partner will be a strategic partner for the Leica Biosystems site in Richmond, IL, owning and delivering the local associate experience by shaping and delivering strategies for engagement, culture, talent, employee relations, and employer brand. The role anticipates and mitigates people risk, ensures compliant governance, and influences leaders to deliver an inclusive and positive associate culture while enabling People Leaders to lead with confidence and clarity.

The People Partner works closely with HRBPs, COEs, and HR Shared Services to deliver scalable, compliant execution while maintaining ownership of the local people agenda. They model modern HR ways of working, using self-service and case management tools as the primary entry point for HR support.

This position is part of the LBS HR Team and Richmond Site Leadership Team and is based on-site in Richmond, IL.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Richmond site leadership on people strategy, organizational health, and workforce risk.
  • Enable People Leaders through coaching and guidance on complex people topics, including organizational change, policy interpretation, and leader effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders to operationalize workforce plans, ensuring timely execution of headcount actions and providing real-time insight on capacity, risk, and execution readiness.
  • Own local people governance for the Richmond site, ensuring compliant, consistent application of HR policies, standards, and approved local exceptions.
  • Advance the local associate experience through listening channels and people analytics to set priorities and guide decisions.


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Undergraduate degree required; 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience required; MBA or master's degree preferred.
  • Broad HR generalist expertise, including employee relations, compliance, talent, and engagement, with the ability to independently translate global standards into locally compliant practices.
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing People Leaders on sensitive matters and driving adoption of modern HR operating practices, including self-service and case management.
  • Track record leading local HR projects and change initiatives with moderate-to-high complexity, delivering measurable improvements to the associate experience.
  • Continuous improvement and process oriented, with familiarity applying lean principles, structured problem solving, and people data/associate insights to Human Resources in a measurable and sustainable way.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Providing direct and actionable feedback, support others in facing difficult situations/decisions while willing to do the same, and champion potentially unpopular ideas based on strong judgement.
  • Experience operating in a complex, matrixed, and global organization.
  • Experience in regulated environments, managing HR governance (legal entity, audit/regulatory, crisis response) with high confidentiality and integrity.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
