We are mobilizing a team of leaders and subject matter experts within HDR to support a multi-year technology development and implementation project. These leaders and subject matter experts will be fully utilized in this technology implementation, creating several permanent openings within our team to backfill these individuals in supporting day-to-day accounting & finance activities and teams.

The Payroll Senior Manager will lead global payroll operations by overseeing U.S. payroll processing through Oracle EBS, payroll administration across 10 international countries utilizing third-party payroll providers, and management of the Oracle Time & Labor (OTL) platform used for payroll processing and project accounting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Day to day oversight of teams performing US Payroll, US Payroll Tax, International Payrolls, and OTL.
• Assist in determining and implementing the strategic vision for Payroll teams, payroll processes, and related systems, including OTL.
• Focus on building high-performing and resilient teams who achieve results with professionalism, collaboration, and trust.
• Maintain clarity in team roles, responsibilities, and expected results, with key performance indicators (KPIs) in place to demonstrate results.
• Maintain desktop procedures and cross-training for key recurring duties to maintain resiliency and avoid over-reliance on a single resource.
• Utilize understanding of payroll and time & labor functions to lead HDR through payroll challenges, including mobile workforce, technology adoption, internal controls, and other emerging topics.
• Assess and communicate the impact of related ERP defects to all impacted teams and stakeholders, and provide prioritization input to the HDR Enterprise Resource and Planning (ERP) team.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate integration of payroll processes for firms acquired throughout the world.
• Provide oversight and leadership of staff professional development, including strong knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements associated with payroll, payroll tax, and wage & hour laws.
• Provide candid and open feedback to staff and peers in constructive fashion.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders within other areas, including HR, Compensation & Benefits, Accounting, ERP Team, Treasury, and Tax.
• Manage key 3rd party vendor relationships and performance, including international payroll providers and Automatic Data Processing (ADP).
• Maintain documented quality control checks and segregation of duties associated with the processing of payroll, including payroll processed with assistance from 3rd party payroll systems and/or processors.
Characteristics of a successful Candidate:
• 10+ years of accounting and/or business experience, preferably in Payroll.
• Previous experience managing payroll within a global organization, preferably a professional services organization.
• Experience should include at least 5 years of proven supervisory responsibilities demonstrating excellent team leadership, communication and customer service.
• Business and management skills: organization and time management, critical thinking, risk mitigation, decision-making and relationship building.
• Leadership skills: emotional intelligence, effective communication, coaching, problem solving, conflict resolution, delegation, talent management and team-building.

• Ability to make decisions and plans based on the vision, direction and long-term strategy of the organization, as well as experience in implementing strategies and of defining and establishing procedures.
• High level of initiative with commitment and ability to work extended hours as required, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to research the root cause of problems and collaborate with others while recommending and implementing lasting process improvements/enhancements to correct problems.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
• Previous experience with a global ERP.
• Previous experience performing system implementations and enhancements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Preference given to local candidates.
• Experience with time, labor, and project costing is a plus.
