Job DescriptionAs an
Operating Department Leader, you will be instrumental in contributing to and executing strategic initiatives within our organization. You will play a key role in identifying and leading the development of new ideas, techniques, procedures, and services to optimize our warehouse and logistics operations. Working under limited supervision, you will have the opportunity to influence both internal and external stakeholders. This position is
critical to the success of our manual and automated warehouse operations, encompassing leadership in training, staffing, capability building, and all associated work processes. You'll be responsible for developing the training of the team according to the principles of IWS (integrated work system) and aligned with our purpose-values and principles
Key Responsibilities:- Lead with a focus on safety, organization, efficiency, and overall performance of the warehouse, shipping/receiving, and logistics activities at the Albany Plant (Georgia).
- Inspire and guide all logistics personnel by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and providing coaching.
- Ensure all shipping, receiving and internal movements processes are accurate, timely, and consistently meet company standards.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of all third-party logistics organizations.
- Strategically manage the receiving of materials and continuously drive improvements in the customer delivery process.
Job Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree required; preferably related to Manufacturing or Supply Chain
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to envision, energize, engage, and enable a team through role-modeling and execution of strategy
- Demonstrated ability to develop & coach technicians to generate and execute action plans that drive root cause elimination of losses.
- Strong collaboration, communication skills across various operating departments within the site.
- Ability to deal with multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
- Has basic computer skills and can use all module computer systems (Proficy, MS Office, SAP, RTCIS, one note, BOX, etc.)
- WMS or Automation experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills such as: directing a group in an organized manner through the resolution of problems, staying calm in emergencies, developing and executing plans, data-based decision making, personal ownership/accountability for the equipment health, and organizing and assigning work during downtime.
