About the Team

T. Rowe Price's Corporate Strategy team is responsible for helping shape the firm's long-term direction by identifying, evaluating, and advancing the strategic priorities that support sustained growth, profitability, and competitive differentiation. The team partners closely with executive leadership and business leaders across the firm to assess market developments, evaluate strategic options, and support enterprise decision-making. This includes work related to corporate strategy development, strategic planning, market and competitive analysis, and the evaluation and execution of inorganic growth opportunities.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivatedSenior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to play a key role in supporting the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and other growth opportunities across the firm. This individual will work closely with the Director, Mergers & Acquisitions, senior leaders across Global Strategy, business units, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to help identify, assess, and execute transactions that advance the firm's long-term strategic objectives.

In addition to transaction-related work, this role will contribute to broader strategic initiatives across the Global Strategy team, supporting enterprise priorities through rigorous analysis, structured problem solving, strategic planning support, and executive-level communications. The role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking, financial and valuation expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

This position offers meaningful exposure to senior executives and a unique opportunity to build expertise at the intersection of corporate strategy, financial analysis, and transaction execution within a leading global asset manager.

Responsibilities

Strategic Opportunity Assessment:
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions, strategic partnerships, minority investments, and other strategic opportunities across asset management, wealth management, retirement services, financial technology, and adjacent sectors.
  • Conduct industry, market, customer, competitor, and organizational positioning analyses to identify attractive areas for growth and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor the asset management and broader financial services landscape to maintain a pipeline of potential opportunities and emerging themes relevant to the firm's strategic priorities.
  • Assess strategic fit by analyzing business models, market positioning, capabilities, operating characteristics, and potential value creation opportunities.
  • Support the development of strategic perspectives and recommendations by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Contribute to broader enterprise strategy work, including strategic planning, environmental scans, and evaluation of key business and market trends.


Financial Analysis & Valuation:
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analyses, Comparable company valuation analyses, Precedent transaction analyses, Accretion/dilution models, Synergy analyses.
  • Analyze transaction economics, key value drivers, risks, and return scenarios to support investment and transaction recommendations.
  • Evaluate financial performance, growth outlook, and operating assumptions of potential targets, partners, or investment opportunities.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and decision-support materials that help leadership assess strategic options and tradeoffs.
  • Prepare strategy committee materials, investment recommendations, and senior management presentations grounded in rigorous financial and strategic analysis.


Transaction Execution:
  • Support all phases of M&A and strategic transaction execution, from opportunity assessment and initial evaluation through diligence, negotiation support, signing, and closing.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts across internal stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Risk, Technology, HR, and relevant business units, as well as external advisors.
  • Manage data rooms, diligence requests, workplans, and transaction workstreams to help ensure effective process management and timely execution.
  • Track key issues, risks, dependencies, and decision points throughout the transaction lifecycle and escalate appropriately.
  • Assist in integration planning, synergy identification, and post-close value capture tracking, in partnership with business and functional leaders.
  • Help drive disciplined execution by maintaining clear documentation, timelines, and governance materials throughout the deal process.


Executive & Board-Level Communications:
  • Develop high-quality presentations, briefing materials, and recommendations for senior executives, management committees, and the Board of Directors.
  • Synthesize complex strategic, financial, and market analyses into concise, compelling, and actionable insights tailored to senior audiences.
  • Support the creation of corporate strategy-related materials and updates on strategic initiatives, transaction opportunities, and enterprise priorities.
  • Present findings effectively and credibly, using sound judgment and a clear understanding of leadership needs and decision context.
  • Support strategic planning and special projects as needed, including work that advances the firm's long-term strategic plan.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: FIG Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy / Development, Transaction advisory, Management Consulting


Preferred:
  • Experience focused on asset management or broader financial services, with strong understanding of industry dynamics, business models, and competitive trends
  • Experience evaluating acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and other corporate development opportunities across asset management and broader financial services
  • Exposure to M&A transaction execution

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$122,000.00 - $209,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$135,000.00 - $230,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$153,000.00 - $261,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
