Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Marketing will lead marketing efforts within either the Brand Marketing or Digital Marketing function. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive brand growth, strengthen digital presence, and achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either brand or digital marketing, with a proven track record of leading successful campaigns and managing teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brand Marketing Focus
  • Oversee multiple campaigns and brands simultaneously, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for brand positioning, creative direction, and growth strategies for assigned brands or categories.
  • Translate complex consumer insights into actionable creative strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional integration across brand, media, shopper marketing, digital, and communications teams.
  • Coach managers and associates on campaign development and leadership skills.
  • Manage agency partnerships, including negotiations and scope-of-work agreements.
  • Develop and implement brand marketing strategies to enhance brand equity and drive consumer engagement.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, including advertising, promotions, and events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities for brand growth.
  • Manage creative agency work and deliverables against approved scopes, overseeing marketing and advertising spend totaling $10 million or more.

2. Digital Marketing Focus
  • Lead the delivery of strategic initiatives across data activation, digital marketing activation, e-commerce, and commerce marketing, ensuring cross-functional alignment, timely execution, and measurable business impact with a focus on driving volume growth.
  • Lead the development and execution of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Manage end-to-end digital marketing campaigns to drive online traffic, engagement, and conversions.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize performance.
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends and emerging technologies to ensure Tyson Foods remains at the forefront of digital innovation.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to manage projects that are delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget.

3. Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 2 to 5 direct reports, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support employee development.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product Development, and Finance, to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including advertising agencies, media partners, and vendors.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience
  • Seven or more years of experience in marketing, sales, insights, and/or agency environments within the food industry or other consumer packaged goods (CPG) organizations.
  • Proven experience developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.

Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership, peers, customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to leverage both quantitative shopper data and qualitative insights to create customer-focused growth strategies.

  • Skilled at presenting and advocating ideas to decision-makers, including buyers, sales leaders, brand managers, and sales planning teams.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple brand teams and business units, each with distinct processes and management styles.
  • Experience managing agency relationships from creative concept development through execution.
  • Ability to develop agency assignment briefs, creative briefs, and serve as a strong customer advocate.

Computer Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen, Mintel, and Retail Link preferred.

Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 15% to 20% as needed for marketing production activities and business needs.
