30113 Role SummaryWe are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager, Logistics & Distribution to lead the company's domestic and international logistics operations and distribution center network. This role is responsible for managing a team of logistics managers and distribution center managers who oversee the performance, service, cost, compliance, and operational execution of seven distribution centers and the domestic and international logistics networks.
The ideal candidate will bring deep logistics, transportation, warehousing, and distribution leadership experience, along with the ability to develop leaders, manage internal and external operating partners, and drive measurable improvements in safety, service, productivity, cost, inventory flow, and customer experience. Success in this role requires strong operational discipline, analytical rigor, stakeholder influence, and the ability to balance daily execution with longer-term network, process, systems, and capability improvements.
Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)- Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics managers (domestic & international) and four warehouse managers; establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, escalation paths, and accountability for execution excellence.
- Own the operations and performance of seven distribution centers which includes three externally managed 3PL sites, ensuring consistent standards for safety, service, quality, cost, productivity, and compliance.
- Develop and execute logistics and distribution strategies that support safety, customer service, inventory flow, cost efficiency, network resiliency, and business growth across domestic and international operations.
- Provide leadership oversight for transportation management, carrier performance, distribution center operations, 3PL governance, and network execution.
- Establish and/or manage key performance indicators for logistics and distribution, including safety, on-time delivery, order cycle time, freight cost, warehouse productivity, dock-to-stock performance, inventory accuracy, damage rates, and 3PL service levels.
Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities) Continued- Drive continuous improvement across transportation and distribution processes by identifying root causes, standardizing best practices, improving visibility, and leading corrective actions with internal teams and external partners.
- Partner with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Service, Finance, Trade Compliance, and Sales to align logistics capacity, distribution readiness, inventory positioning, and customer delivery requirements.
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, parcel providers, warehouse service providers, and 3PL operators to ensure contract compliance, operational performance, cost control, and issue resolution.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management for transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations, including freight spend analysis, productivity initiatives, rate impacts, and savings opportunities.
- Lead logistics and distribution reviews with senior leadership, clearly communicating operational performance, risks, cost drivers, service issues, capacity constraints, project status, and recommended actions.
- Ensure distribution centers and logistics partners operate in compliance with company policies, safety expectations, regulatory requirements, trade requirements, security standards, and applicable customer or industry requirements.
- Identify and lead logistics network, warehouse process, systems, automation, and capability improvement opportunities that improve service, reduce cost, increase throughput, and strengthen operational resilience.
Basic Requirements- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, operations, engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, supply chain operations, or related fields, including leadership of people, processes, and operating partners.
- Experience leading multi-site distribution operations, transportation networks, or 3PL-managed operations.
- Strong understanding of domestic transportation, international logistics, warehousing operations, distribution center performance, carrier management, freight cost control, and customer delivery execution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal leaders and external partners while driving performance through KPIs, standard work, governance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, advanced degree, or relevant professional certification
- International logistics experience
- Experience with ERP, TMS, WMS, freight audit/payment, visibility, and analytics tools
