We are looking for:A Senior Manager, IT Platform Engineering to own the infrastructure, identity, and engineering programs that keep Oura's global workforce running at scale.
You will lead a technically excellent team responsible for enterprise identity (Okta, Lumos, Delinea), network infrastructure, endpoint engineering, remote access modernization, and Oura's Joiner/Mover/Leaver transformation - serving as the management layer above a senior engineering team, setting the tempo, owning delivery outcomes, and translating technical complexity into clear business direction for cross-functional leadership.
The right person brings real technical credibility that their team and vendors will recognize immediately. You contribute hands-on where your depth adds the most leverage - architecture reviews, identity design decisions, vendor technical validation - while spending the majority of your time on people, programs, and strategic leadership.
What you will do: - Lead, coach, and develop a team of senior IT platform engineers - actively growing them toward informal domain ownership across Identity, Endpoint, and Security Engineering; own the full people management lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, performance, career development, and succession
- Own delivery accountability across IT's major programs - identity maturation, PAM deployment, network-as-a-service delivery, and remote access modernization - not executing every task, but accountable for every outcome; partner with the Staff Engineer to sequence the technical roadmap and protect strategic programs from BAU erosion
- Own delivery relationships with key technology vendors and implementation partners - milestone accountability, performance governance, and risk escalation without requiring executive involvement
- Lead programs across Security, GRC, Legal, People, and Finance as a true business partner; translate complex technical risk into clear, actionable business language for executive stakeholders; influence without authority across functions
- Own the maturation of Oura's enterprise identity program end-to-end - PAM deployment, IGA governance, and Joiner/Mover/Leaver automation are organizational priorities; ensure delivery meets compliance and audit-readiness requirements in partnership with Security and Compliance
- Apply your technical depth where it has the highest leverage - architecture reviews, identity design decisions, vendor technical validation, and engineering escalations; remain a credible peer to your senior engineers and delivery partners
This is a remote US-East role with a strong preference for candidates based in the New York Tri-state area.
Requirements We would love to consider you for this role if you have:- 8+ years in enterprise IT with at least 3+ years managing technical teams at or above Senior Manager level in a high-growth, fast-paced technology company
- Deeply technical career foundation - you've personally built and operated identity platforms, managed Okta/Entra or equivalent environments, deployed MDM/UEM, and run network infrastructure before stepping into management; that hands-on experience shapes how you lead today
- Hands-on Okta or modern enterprise IAM proficiency - proven across at least one full IAM/IGA program delivery; JML automation, IGA governance, PAM vaulting, SCIM provisioning, and compliance controls are part of your working vocabulary
- Multi-cloud fluency across platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) - you've operated in a multi-cloud environment and make informed infrastructure and architecture decisions with confidence
- Proven track record building and scaling technical teams - developed engineers into domain leads, structured teams for growth, and retained strong talent in a competitive market across 2+ organizations
- Vendor and partner management experience - owned commercial relationships, held partners to milestones, and managed escalation paths without requiring executive involvement
- Cross-functional influence - equally effective driving alignment with Legal, Finance, and People as in a technical architecture review; influences without authority across 3+ organizational functions
- Exceptional communicator - written, verbal, and executive-ready; AI-first mindset and employee experience focus reflected in how you lead, build, and make decisions
- Proficient in agile methodologies; Jira and Confluence are everyday tools, not afterthoughts
- This role is part of a rotating on-call schedule for critical IT infrastructure incidents; comfort with occasional after-hours response is required
