Full Job Description
Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager - Inspections is responsible for leading and optimizing field support of inspection functions across THD retail locations, ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, and financial performance. This role provides direct leadership to Field Support Managers (FSMs) and dedicated inspection teams - driving standardized racking and cantilever systems inspections, internalizing critical safety responsibilities, and aligning resources. The Senior Manager serves as the strategic bridge between Field Merchandising, Safety, and SSC partners - ensuring consistent, compliant, and cost-effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 10% Cross-Functional Leadership - Partner with Safety and Engineering teams to mitigate risk and ensure compliance. Serve as escalation point for field execution risks and issues. Partner with Field Capital, Safety, Building Services, and SSC teams to realize efficiencies and share learnings.
  • 10% Financial & Strategic Impact - Manage budget alignment across FSM and inspection functions. Partner with Finance to track ROI and savings realization.
  • 40% Strategy Management - Lead internal rack inspection and rack safety program strategy. Standardize inspection cadence, audit quality, and reporting practices. Coordinate and provide oversight of inspection audits. Evaluate vendor performance, cost, and quality outcomes. Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering requirements, and company guidelines. Lead continuous improvement initiatives driven by field insights and performance data. Monitor KPIs including quality, cycle time, cost adherence, and issue resolution.
  • 40% Team Leadership & Oversight Governance - Directly lead, coach, and develop Field Support Managers (FSMs) across inspection roles. Establish performance expectations, productivity standards, and accountability measures. Drive workforce planning and optimize resource alignment based on project volume, safety metrics, complexity, and geography. Ensure onboarding, training, and certification is aligned to company standards. Ensure system utilization (MLX and reporting tools) for visibility and accountability.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
  • This Position typically reports to Senior Director Field Capital.
  • This Position typically has 13 Direct Reports.


Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.


Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position.


Working Conditions:
  • Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to store and field environments while overseeing inspection activities.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Tableau
  • Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of analytical/statistics software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Stata)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
