Job SummaryResponsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive infection prevention and control program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, promoting patient safety, and minimizing the risk of infection to patients, staff, and visitors. The position oversees multiple locations and entities.
Essential Functions
• Create and manage infection control programs, policies, and procedures to comply with regulatory standards like CDC, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret infection data to identify outbreaks and improvement areas and present findings to leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Lead and mentor a team of infection preventionists, promoting continuous learning, conducting performance evaluations, and providing coaching.
• Design and deliver training programs for staff on infection prevention practices to ensure compliance with protocols.
• Work with clinical leaders, quality teams, and other departments to integrate infection control practices and support quality improvement efforts.
• Maintain compliance with all infection control-related regulations and standards and prepare for regulatory inspections, audits, and surveys.
• Lead investigations of infection outbreaks, develop action plans, and implement measures to control and prevent the spread of infections.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on best practices, recommending new technologies and methods to enhance infection control programs.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Public Health required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Experience- 5-7 years of experience in infection control and prevention, public health, or closely related field, preferably in a hospital setting
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., CDC, OSHA, The Joint Commission).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
