Role Purpose:The Sr. Manager, Indirect Purchasing, oversees the procurement of non-production categories-such as MRO, facilities, IT, services, utilities, etc. This role ensures cost-effective sourcing and supplier performance, in alignment with operational, financial, and safety objectives across the organization. The Sr. Manager partners with cross-functional teams to drive savings, mitigate risk, and build scalable procurement processes.
Major Responsibilities and Activities:- Develop and execute commodity strategies for key indirect spending categories.
- Select, onboard, and manage suppliers ensuring cost, quality and service.
- Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and supplier research to identify cost-reduction and value-creation opportunities.
- Lead competitive bidding, RFQs/RFPs, and negotiation processes.
- Drive supplier consolidation and long-term partnership strategies.
- Analyze spend data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Deliver annual cost-savings targets.
- Lead training for internal stakeholders on procurement processes and systems, and engage with the various plants and BU heads to ensure and facilitate alignment and adoption.
- Establish KPIs and scorecards for supplier evaluation.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools for leadership visibility. Actively engage to support automation and analytic solutions for the Purchasing Department.
- Strengthen procurement governance and progressively reduce maverick spend. Earn trust and alignment across cross-functional teams and plants.
- Support the Indirect Purchasing Managers/Buyers through critical contract negotiations and escalation process with suppliers.
- Develop supplier relationships & strategic partnerships. Remain curious and benchmark supplier innovation ideas
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5-10+ years of procurement experience, with a focus on indirect categories.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or multi-site operations preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Expertise in contract negotiation and risk management.
- Advanced Excel Skills. Technologically savvy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across global teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building abilities
