JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we're committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As a Senior Manager Gross Margin Improvement, you will manage Gross Margin Improvement program for the ADC Division. The incumbent will lead and direct the associated program resources, while collaborating across site and function leadership to drive and achieve division margin improvement goals. Provide leadership and management of high impact change programs that significantly improve productivity and cost structure of ADC business. The scope will include both long-term planning and roadmap development, as well as short-term execution of critical projects and programs. This position reports to the Director of Operational Excellence. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the division Gross Margin Improvement program, including execution of large scale / high impact initiatives and reporting of progress to Executive Steering committee.
  • Design and lead projects for long-term value creation; Determine the 'what must happen/stay on track'; Establish and evaluate key metrics; Drive results through innovative value creation and initiatives for continuous, measurable improvements
  • Collaborate and influence across site and function leadership and staff to assign goals, develop project funnels, support execution, and manage / mitigate risks.
  • Develop & deploy sustaining tools and processes
  • Ensure that high impact programs are defined, resourced and implemented to achieve financial objectives
  • Perform benchmarking to define significant opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with all division sites to support the ADC journey
  • Develop roadmap for ADC Value Stream and execute roadmap milestones.


Experience You'll Bring

Required
  • Bachelors Degree/Masters Degree preferred: Engineering, Business, Finance
  • Minimum 7 years years of working in the industry in which an Abbott business competes
  • Proven history of critical thinking and problem solving, providing insights and delivering tangible results
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad financial and non-financial audience
  • Experience leading large and complex projects with global team members of various levels of management, including Executive-level
  • Bachelor's degree required - Engineering, Business or Finance.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • PMP preferred
