Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Contract Offer Development for Diagnostic Systems this position facilitates the Capital Contracting Lifecycle aspects of BD's Diagnostic Systems (DS), specializing in Government. As a member of the DS Capital Contracting Team, the role will also assist with the contracting capability within DS, accomplished through strong business acumen and best practice contract development. Working in partnership within the Commercial Contracting team, Senior Sales Leaders, Cross functional Business Partners, Finance, Legal Partners, Implementation team and Commercial Customers, this role will assist in driving best in class, contract offer development and asset lifecycle management capabilities within established policy, process and governance to ensure the effective implementation of complex, critical contract activities which manage business opportunities and risk appropriately.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the team responsible for contract compliance governance, data reporting, systems management, pricing agreement governance, and price quoting management.
  • Communicate potential compliance risks and mitigation plans to leadership team.
  • Drive end-to-end business intelligence capabilities from improved data quality and leading to advanced analytics that guide sound decision-making
  • Lead the development and execution of Sales Force excellence programs, enabling teams through training, coaching, and performance measurement.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide pricing and quoting activities in alignment to contract and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify projects for process improvements that directly impact compliance, process, and revenue.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics
  • Prioritizes data projects across competing business priorities
  • Lead compliance mitigation projects to achieve compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate record retention in accordance with BD document retention policy.
  • Identify and understand key areas of change management with the ability to recognize and communicate the impact of change across functional teams.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to staff to attract, develop, and retain talent.

To be successful in this role, an individual must demonstrate a strong customer focus, while following compliance processes and business objectives. They must be action oriented, driving timely execution while proactively addressing potential compliance risks. Success also requires strong business acumen and the ability to navigate ambiguity is essential.

Required education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting lifecycle to support compliance through policy development.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • In-depth understanding of sales and marketing processes, business intelligence tools, and pricing strategies.
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Power BI, Salesforce, etc.
  • Candidate must have proven track record to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead people and foster career development.
  • Ability to travel, up to 20%.
