OverviewThe Senior Manager, Global Finance of Avison Young will be responsible for managing internal and external reporting activities, the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and driving improvements in processes and documentation.
The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $135,000 to $155,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.
Responsibilities- Manage the month-end close and consolidation processes to ensure results are prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the Company's policy
- Perform preliminary financial analysis on monthly financial statement close data to identify areas of potential misstatement or key drivers for positive / negative performance
- Manage corporate accounting, including serving as the finance partner for global IT and global center of excellence leaders
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure technical accuracy of accounting in complex areas including but not limited to M&A, debt and equity transactions, consolidations, variable interest entities, and share based compensation
- Maintain the Company's compliance with accounting standards and research, implement, and document the Company's position on all newly issued guidance
- Assist with the review of annual budget data and the development of the consolidated business plan
- Assist with the identification and measurement of KPIs related to business and operational performance
- Complete special projects and other functions as required by manager
- Maintain documentation of internal control processes and standards
- Together with the CAO and Global Accounting Manager, serve as a key point person to external auditors and other external financial subject matter experts
- And of course, other duties as required
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required
- Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant, required
- 6-8 years of experience required, 2-3 years of public accounting experience ideal
- Experience in preparing financial statements and drafting related footnote and MD&A disclosures
- Demonstrated strong communication and analytical skills
- Self-starter with the ability to strive in a fast-paced, customer service oriented environment
- Proficient use of Excel data analysis tools, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools
- Proficient US GAAP technical knowledge, required
- Experience with NetSuite or other comparable Global ERP
- Multi-national experience, or exposure to accounting in a multi-currency environment a plus
