Overview:

Senior Manager, Global Collaborations Business Operations, is an action-role delivering operational execution, cross-functional coordination and supporting alliance projects. This role conducts the critical work and management to ensure Summit delivers results in partner-sponsored combinations studies, working under the guidance of the Director, Global Collaborations Business Operations & Strategy, and in alignment with the Alliance team. The position delivers operational capacity, greater communication across functions and building or accessing the materials needed for study or collaboration success.

Position reports to the Director, Global Collaborations Business Operations & Strategy, and will be a key member of global alliances and collaborations activities. This requires experience and familiarity working with cross-functional teams, such as Clinical, Research, Program Management, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs, CMC/Supply, Quality, Legal, Finance, and others to include senior leaders and department heads. This position will bring visibility and professional growth in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

Study Start-up & Management
    • Primary focus is to manage internal activities and projects supporting partner's global study start-up, support meeting preparation and delivery, optimize timely communication, as well as prepare dashboards and reports.
    • Coordinate across internal functions for assigned projects to ensure combination study tasks are tracked, owners are clear, and deliverables stay on schedule.
    • Support resolution of operational or study questions across functions, gather information, engage the right SMEs, prepare clear summaries, and bring well-framed issues to the Director with proposed paths forward; follow up until items are closed.

Collaboration Business Operations
    • Track and support execution of externally sponsored combination studies, monitor partner sponsor progress against start-up milestones, maintain action logs, coordinate follow-through on open items, and surface emerging risks to the Director before they escalate.
    • Coordinate key deliverables in partner-led studies; engage partner counterparts directly to facilitate resolution of issues and questions.
    • Contribute to the development, curation and maintenance of best practices, templates and tools that support scalable collaborations.

Alliance Engagement
    • Serve as an operational support resource for the Department and manager.
    • Compile study status updates, partner deliverable tracking, and obligation calendar inputs that keep the Alliance team fully informed for governance discussions and executive conversations.
    • Provide continuity support in partner-facing coordination during periods of high-volume work or as a key contact externally for select collaborations.

Business Strategy
    • Participate as an operational contributor on key Department activities, which may include combinations strategy, scenario planning and global partner strategy.
    • Support Business Operations input into diligence activities or during business negotiations.
    • All other duties as assigned.


Experience, Education and Specialized Capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Advanced degree preferred (MBA, Masters, etc.), dual scientific and business background is a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in drug development in biopharma with demonstrated experience delivering required responsibilities; for example, project management, alliance management, clinical operations and/or R&D Operations.
  • Prior oncology drug experience in late-stage development and/or commercial stage required; strong understanding of oncology drug development, scientific platforms, and global dynamics.
  • Hands-on experience in pharma or biotech drug development clinical trial collaboration start-up & management with external partners required.
  • Proficient user of MS Office suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project), experience using electronic document management systems, document review tools and can quickly build presentations for leaders/teams.
  • Prior experience with technology tools (e.g. Smartsheets, MS Project) in planning, maintenance and communication of information is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communicator in public-speaking, meeting facilitation and email communication.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding and diverse environment that includes global virtual meetings outside standard business hours.
  • Ability to travel to collaboration or business meetings, to include semi-frequent travel to hub office locations or collaboration partner sites.
  • This globally oriented role may require unconventional work hours to meet EU, US and Asia time zones as part of weekly activities.
  • Role is primarily office-based.


This is the pay for this position

Pay Transparency

$155,000-$175,000 USD

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
