Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Data Governance will lead the strategy, framework, and operational execution of Encore's Enterprise Data Governance program, enabling trusted, compliant, and high-quality data across all event, labor, and revenue systems.

This role ensures that Encore's Microsoft Fabric ecosystem - including Purview, Power BI, and OneLake - operates within clearly defined governance standards & data stewardship practices. The Senior Manager will partner with business and technology leaders to embed governance into daily operations, driving improved data confidence, compliance, and value realization across the Data & Event Services lifecycle.

As a people leader, this role will develop and mentor a team of data stewards and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, literacy, and continuous improvement in how data is defined, maintained, and used across domains.

Key Job Responsibilities

Governance Strategy & Framework
• Execute, Sustain, & Scale Encore's Enterprise Data Governance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and Microsoft data platform architecture.
• Establish data policies, standards, and controls across data domains (Finance, Operations, HR, Sales enablement, & Product Mgmt).
• Partner with Data Stewards & the D&A hub to embed governance into Microsoft Fabric workflows and data pipelines.

Stewardship Enablement & Oversight
• Maintain and lead a network of business data stewards across domains, providing tools, playbooks, and training for consistent data ownership.
• Oversee data certification and quality monitoring processes for key assets in OneLake and Power BI.
• Promote accountability for data definitions, lineage, and master data integrity, ensuring consistency across event, client, and workforce systems.

Data Quality & Compliance
• Lead enterprise-wide data quality initiatives, focusing on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of critical data used in event delivery and financial reporting.
• Implement automated data quality rules, lineage tracking, and impact analysis using Microsoft Purview.
• Partner with Legal, Security, and IT to maintain compliance with privacy, security, and retention policies.

People Leadership & Culture
• Lead enterprise-wide data quality initiatives, focusing on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of critical data used in event delivery and financial reporting.
• Implement automated data quality rules, lineage tracking, and impact analysis using Microsoft Purview.
• Partner with Legal, Security, and IT to maintain compliance with privacy, security, and retention policies.

Business Partnership & Value Delivery
• Partner with FP&A, & Operations leaders to ensure governed data supports critical decision-making and reporting needs.
• Translate governance metrics into business value stories - improving trust in data used for revenue forecasting, labor optimization, and customer & event insights.
• Serve as a liaison between business, technology, and governance committees, representing the Data Governance function in enterprise forums.

Job Qualifications
