Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Engineering leads the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the firm's enterprise data platforms and analytics capabilities. This role oversees data integration, analytics engineering, governance, and platform operations to ensure secure, scalable, and high-quality data that supports firm leadership, attorneys, business professionals, and client service initiatives. As both a technical leader and trusted business partner, the Senior Manager translates complex business needs into actionable data solutions while leading a team responsible for modern data platforms, reporting, and enterprise analytics. The role partners closely with firm leadership and department heads to advance the firm's data strategy and analytics maturity. Experience in a law firm, professional services, or other complex, client-focused environment is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead the firm's data engineering and analytics strategy, aligning initiatives with business goals and operational priorities.
  • Oversee the data and analytics team, ensuring delivery of reliable, high-value data solutions.
  • Drive data modernization, cloud transformation, governance, and data quality initiatives.
  • Partner closely with department leaders across IT, Finance, HR, Marketing, Business Development, Knowledge Management, and Practice Groups to identify opportunities and deliver business value through data.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration among business and technology teams to align priorities, improve processes, and advance firm-wide data initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, translating business needs into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers to support the firm's data and analytics objectives.

Data Platform & Engineering
  • Lead the design, implementation, and support of the firm's data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Oversee the development of data pipelines and integrations that support reporting, analytics, and business operations.
  • Establish standards for data architecture, modeling, governance, and quality.
  • Promote modern engineering practices, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance data, analytics, and AI capabilities.

Analytics Engineering & Business Intelligence
  • Oversee the delivery of trusted datasets, data models, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with business leaders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Enable advanced analytics and AI initiatives through strong data foundations.
  • Promote self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making across the firm.

Governance, Security & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain data governance, quality, and stewardship standards.
  • Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality, records management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Information Security, Risk Management, Legal, and other departments to implement appropriate controls.
  • Promote responsible data management and AI practices throughout the organization.


Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing data, analytics, or technology professionals while driving successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders to define strategy, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable business value.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, data integration solutions, and analytics environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud, and related data integration technologies.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling techniques.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with legal operations, matter management, conflicts, timekeeping, billing, collections, profitability reporting, and attorney compensation processes.
  • Experience integrating data from legal and business systems such as Aderant, IntApp, NetDocuments, HRIS and business development platforms
  • Experience supporting analytics related to attorney productivity, matter profitability, client relationship management, staffing, and business development.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives through enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience within a law firm, legal services organization, or professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, or related field.


For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $173,500 and $227,750. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses.
