Senior Manager, Cost Estimation and Capital Planning
YOUR ROLE
The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager, Cost Estimation and Capital Planning will be to provide financial leadership to the quoting process. You will be responsible for guiding the program team to quote new programs accurately while highlighting the risks and opportunities in a strategic way to achieve future profitable growth. This is a cross-functional role and you will be responsible to ensure processes are developed, communicated and followed across the regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deploy global standard policies, frameworks, and supporting tools for the creation and presentation of business cases, including customer quotations, capital expenditures, and savings initiatives
- Lead cross‑regional reviews of business cases with regional leadership prior to executive submission, ensuring consistency, rigor, and adherence to established policies and standards
- Synthesize and clearly articulate key risks, opportunities, sensitivities, and non‑standard considerations for executive leadership, including fact‑based recommendations to optimize outcomes
- Partner with global program management and regional teams to execute post‑audit reviews, tracking performance against approved commitments and driving corrective actions as needed
- Own and maintain rolling three‑year capital expenditure forecasts, working closely with regional finance and operations teams to identify optimization and prioritization opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Ten or more years of experience in program controlling and commercial finance
- Experience working in a matrixed global organization, automotive preferred
- Expertise in Excel-based modeling, and solid working knowledge in SAP or similar ERP system
- Strong executive presence and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Experience presenting/summarizing findings to executive leadership preferred
- Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
- Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
