Job Description


Role Overview: Senior Manager, Consolidations

Arlington, VA | In office, Monday-Friday

The Senior Manager, Consolidations will support the global monthly close process, including the consolidation of financial statements, elimination of intercompany balances, and compliance with U.S. GAAP (7AAP8). This role will partner closely with the Financial Reporting and Analysis team to prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and related reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows.

This position will work directly with external auditors to support quarterly reviews and annual audits and will assist with the implementation and enhancement of accounting ERP systems. The role will also help manage the close process by coordinating deadlines, communicating close status across the finance organization, and monitoring key metrics to identify process improvement opportunities.

Additional responsibilities may include supporting acquisition due diligence and purchase accounting, research technical accounting matters, and preparing technical accounting memos. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial reporting, including business combinations, foreign currency accounting, intercompany accounting, and consolidations.

The Senior Manager, Consolidations should have deep knowledge of GAAP, strong project management and organizational skills, the ability to assess and document technical accounting issues, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. This individual must also be adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by CoStar's continued growth through organic expansion and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation process for multiple subsidiaries and business units.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and consolidation adjustments to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

  • Support Oracle upgrades, system implementations, and reporting enhancements.

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including fluctuation analyses and key financial statement trends.

  • Oversee general ledger governance, including maintenance of the chart of accounts, legal entity structure, and reporting hierarchies. Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Work with external auditors and facilitate successful completion of the annual audit including compliance with internal controls.

  • Lead and participate in integration efforts for acquired businesses, including ERP, chart of accounts, and close process integration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor6s degree in accounting or finance or related from an accredited, not-for-profit, in person, University or College.

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

  • Experience with financial consolidations, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting.

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in financial consolidations, intercompany accounting, and external or internal financial reporting; or 5+ years of relevant experience combined with a Master6s degree or equivalent mix of education, experience, and professional accounting credentials.

  • Experience managing general ledger close processes within a large, multinational public company environment.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.

  • Demonstrated people leadership and direct management experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Proven analytical and critical-thinking capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and drive informed business decisions.

  • Ability to effectively lead teams while collaborating across functions to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPA license.

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, development, and performance management of accounting professionals.

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP.

  • Knowledge of foreign currency translation and international accounting practices.

  • Prior experience with a Big Four or leading regional public accounting firm.

  • Experience supporting a large, global organization with complex legal entity and consolidation structures.
