About the role:As the Senior Manager or Head of Capital Projects, you will lead the planning and execution of complex capital projects, overseeing the full lifecycle from initial scoping through construction and final handoff. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define project requirements, budgets, and timelines, while managing architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for driving permitting and regulatory compliance, maintaining detailed project schedules and financial tracking in collaboration with Procurement and Finance, and proactively managing risks, changes, and contractor performance. You will serve as a key liaison between leadership and project teams, providing clear reporting and ensuring all projects transition seamlessly to Facilities and Workplace Operations upon completion.
Responsibilities:- Lead project scoping with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, budgets, and timelines
- Manage architects, engineers, and consultants from concept through construction documents
- Drive permitting, code compliance, and regulatory approvals
- Select, contract, and manage general contractors and vendors
- Oversee construction execution, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met
- Track project budgets, forecasts, and spend in partnership with Procurement and Finance
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules and milestones
- Manage contractor performance, supplier coordination and change control
- Ensure seamless handoff to Facilities and Workplace Operations teams
- Provide clear and consistent reporting to leadership
- Onsite presence required at Los Angeles-based facilities; occasional travel to other locations may be necessary.
Requirements:- 8-12+ years of experience in architectural engineering, capital projects, construction management, or real estate development
- Experience delivering industrial, manufacturing, or technical facility projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building systems, and permitting
- Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple concurrent projects
- Experience managing external vendors (architects, engineers, contractors)
Preferred Skills and Experience:- Experience in high-growth or startup environments
- Background in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or hardware companies
- PMP, LEED, or similar certifications
$144,000 - $190,000 a year
