What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager, Business Information Management and Business Intelligence , you will lead a team of data and business professionals to provide streamlined reporting and insights across Regional Banking. You will utilize cutting edge data capabilities to optimize reporting of business results that supports advisors, leaders and National Office teams. You will lead all aspects of end-to-end enablement of data pipeline (ingestion, ETL and analytics delivery processes), including oversight of business applications, reporting platforms and infrastructure.

You will play a critical role to advance, modernize and improve data process automation capabilities, and in the end-to-end delivery of comprehensive reporting solutions which help optimize business results from an operational and employee performance perspective and to enable effective decision making for senior leadership team.

What will you do?
  • Lead and coach a team of analysts and BI specialists to ensure the safety and soundness of the production environment, including legacy systems, by monitoring day-to-day processes, investigating and triaging issues, and providing prompt communication to stakeholders.
  • Build, maintain, enhance, and oversee a governance model and best practices for infrastructure and applications (e.g., SQL Server, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, UAC, Linux Server), ensuring compliance with RBC policies, addressing gaps, and maintaining legacy reporting models.
  • Design and develop innovative, automated self-serve reporting solutions to enable partners to monitor employee and business performance, present key insights, and support leaders in identifying opportunities to enhance performance and drive exceptional client experiences.
  • Lead transformational initiatives to migrate, automate, or decommission manual and legacy reporting processes through automation.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand their business processes and objectives, define/recommend data and reporting solutions, and build effective relationships with stakeholders, functional groups, and T&O partners.
  • Participate in decision-making for ongoing prioritization and reprioritization of work to align with evolving business priorities and changing needs.
  • Act as a thought leader within the PB&CB data community, applying a strategic lens to automated insights, advancing technical capabilities, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Support Transform for Tomorrow initiatives by expanding the use of BI tools, setting up production environments, enhancing governance models, and guiding principles, while educating and coaching the team on internal policies, procedures, and new technologies (e.g., Cloud, Snowflake, Starburst Trino, Machine Learning).


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively through impact and influence in a cross-functional environment, as well as independently with initiative taking ownership.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, related field or equivalent related experience.
  • Expert in ETL and big data modeling capabilities, with programming experience in large databases/datasets and using Python, SAS, SQL Server and Teradata SQL Assistant.
  • Problem solver and logical thinker who can trace back and identify root cause of issues and articulate impacts of changes
  • System administration and change management experience in defining and shaping governance framework related to accesses, production processes, data security and disaster recovery
  • A solid understanding of change management with exceptional communication skill (verbal and written) who can translate, explain and clarify technical concepts to non-technical audience


Nice to have:
  • Understanding of the Financial Services Industry, Business Financial Services, and Retail Banking.
  • Experience in project delivery and developing performance metrics/reports.
  • Programming/coding skills in Snowflake, Hadoop (HIVE), and working experience with GitHub, Collibra, Tableau Metadata, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Tableau Security, Tableau Server Administration, and Unix/Linux system administration.
