Job Description:

Internal Auditing & Advisory Services (IAAS) has an opportunity for a Senior Manager - Audit Strategy & Governance (IAAS). In this role, you will serve as the Chief of Staff for the IAAS organization, partnering closely with IAAS leadership to drive strategic initiatives, governance activities, executive reporting, and enterprise audit planning efforts.

This highly visible role interacts regularly with Caterpillar senior leadership and internal business partners across the enterprise. The successful candidate will bring strong organizational and leadership skills, the ability to influence without direct authority, and exceptional communication capabilities to help drive alignment, accountability, and execution across multiple stakeholders.

IAAS helps improve enterprise effectiveness and efficiency by providing independent and objective assurance, risk management, governance, internal controls, and advisory services while serving as a trusted business partner.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as Chief of Staff for the IAAS organization, supporting strategic priorities, resourcing and organizational effectiveness.


  • Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of executive- and Board-level reporting materials.


  • Manage key strategic initiatives and projects that support IAAS objectives and enterprise priorities.


  • Provide oversight and strategic leadership to the IAAS data analytics team. Driving the strategy for a successful future.


  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to drive accountability and ensure timely completion of critical activities.


  • Support governance activities, reporting processes, and relationships with co-source audit organizations.


  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, governance processes, and organizational effectiveness within IAAS.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and drive results across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.


  • Experience influencing outcomes and managing priorities in environments where there is little or no direct authority.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.


  • Experience developing executive presentations, Board materials, strategic updates, and enterprise communications.


  • Ability to clearly communicate complex information to a broad audience and tailor messaging for senior leaders.


Program Management & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.


  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


  • Experience coordinating deliverables across multiple teams, functions, or business units.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Legal Studies, Strategy, Risk Management, or a related discipline.


  • 15+ years of progressively responsible professional experience.


  • Experience supporting executive leadership, enterprise governance, audit, compliance, strategy, finance, legal, or risk functions preferred.


What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience preparing materials for Executive Office and Board of Directors meetings.


  • Experience supporting internal audit, governance, compliance, risk management, or enterprise control functions.


  • Background in Accounting, Finance, Legal, Corporate Strategy, Risk, or Compliance.


  • Experience coordinating enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple business divisions.


  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.


  • Experience leveraging data and analytics to support executive decision making and organizational priorities.


Additional Information:

  • Location: Irving, TX (Walnut Hill)


  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.


  • Less than 20% travel required.


Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
