Senior Manager, Accounting (CPA)

Description

TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time Senior Manager of Accounting based in Denver. This role requires a CPA and frequent in-office attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of 3+ accountants responsible for month-end close, financial statement audits, and the full accounting cycle across Revenue, AR, AP, accruals, leases, intangible assets, fixed assets, cash, and operating expenses.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by staff and senior accountants on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Own the monthly and quarterly close calendar, driving improvements to shorten close timelines while maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform detailed analyses of revenue and expense accounts to ensure proper coding, completeness, and accuracy of accruals and estimates.
  • Partner with FP&A and business leaders to explain key financial results, variances, and trends, translating accounting detail into insights business partners can act on.
  • Prepare and review materials used in monthly/quarterly reporting packages for executive management and the Board, and contribute to the broader financial reporting process.
  • Research and draft technical accounting memos (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350/360) to document and support the company's accounting positions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, managing PBC lists, timelines, and issue resolution to ensure an efficient annual audit.
  • Act as a change agent identifying and implementing new accounting standards, internal controls, and process/system improvements.
  • Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, goal-setting, and career development planning to build a high-performing accounting team.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CPA Required.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm experience is a plus!).
  • 3+ years of supervisory/people management experience.
  • Revenue recognition experience under ASC 606, ideally in a SaaS or software revenue model.
  • Experience with ERP systems and process automation/optimization (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills - able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across departments and locations (including remote/hybrid teams).

The base salary range at Kharon is set between$165,000-$180,000 Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
