Senior Manager - Access, Private Sector Accounts / Premier chef – Accès, Clients du secteur privé

Role Purpose: As a Private Sector Account Manager, acts as a specialist to internal cross functional teams and external stakeholders. The purpose of this role is to attain ideal reimbursement status for private plan beneficiaries requiring access to Pfizer products through the development and communicating of clinical, economic and humanistic evidence.  This may include the development of proposals, in alignment with business objectives, for formulary inclusion of both in-line and new products. Plans, develops and implements private sector customer programs to influence the development of this market.

Customer Segment: Stakeholders responsible for private benefit provision, including major employers, unions, insurance companies, benefits consultants, pharmaceutical benefit managers, industry associations (e.g. CHLIA and ACCAP) and disability firms.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop the divisional strategy and cross-functional reimbursement plans in order to achieve product formulary listings on private sector plans.
  • Account management approach to shape the private payer value proposition of pipeline and inline products
  • Translate customer insights into knowledge and expertise that will optimize product launch and appropriate patient access to Pfizer therapeutics.

Reimbursement stakeholder development and environment shaping

  • Understand the private benefit perspective and processes, analysis and insights or the purpose of developing high value reimbursement plans
  • Nurture and enhance relationships with stakeholder groups in support of the value of Pfizer’s products throughout the pre-launch, launch and post market authorization continuum
  • Designs and implements programs to shape the evolution of the Private Sector market in Canada.
  • Prioritized and focused effort toward reimbursement plan implementation
  • Provide deep insights from private sector perspective to guide, plan, develop and implement private drug plan submissions, including health economics and Budget Impact Analyses where required
  • Communicate study and project results to private insurers, benefit consultants as well as patient advocates and clinician stakeholders
  • Set clear access objectives and monitor and measure the success of private sector initiatives
  • Effectively allocate resources as required to promote successful access outcomes

Pharmacovigilance

  • Identifies and reports adverse events and product complaints as per Corporate and Regulatory standard procedure, including Your Reporting Responsibilities (YRR) training.

Professional Development

  • Develops and executes individual development plans to enhance performance on the job

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

  • University degree is required, ideally in Science, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, or Business.
  • Relevant experience such as market access or account customer relations management experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical or insurance or related sectors
  • Demonstrated ability in account management and/ or negotiations to understand and engage stakeholders to generate mutual gains (win-win solutions)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams to support reimbursement and formulary goals
  • Ability to focus and prioritize on large, often complex initiatives.
  • A Growth Mindset: Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and capacity to manage conflict constructively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in the evaluation of health care interventions including the clinical and economic evaluation is an asset.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% for stakeholder meetings and events.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,000 to $195,000.

  • Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des programmes visant à façonner l’évolution du marché du secteur privé au Canada
  • Prioriser et cibler les efforts en vue de la mise en œuvre des plans de remboursement
