Job Summary

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Lead, the Senior Maintenance Planner will be responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance plans and schedules that support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations at the Kinross, Great Bear Project.

The Senior Maintenance Planner plays an important role in continuous improvement throughout site and provides leadership to planners and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Build the CMMS for mine maintenance and align with the Kinross procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed preventative and corrective maintenance plan for mobile and fixed equipment.
  • Create long term maintenance forecasts and schedules to align with operational needs,
  • Ensure all work orders are fully planned and ready to be executed.
  • Ensure work order management and maintenance tracking is accurate.
  • Collaborate with other departments when necessary to improve performance and lifecycle performance.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Participate in planning meetings for operations to align priorities, schedules and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure all maintenance plans comply with site safety standards.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain and vendors to support all maintenance projects, critical spare list, and inventory levels.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate major shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds, including parts, materials, and resource readiness.
  • Develop maintenance KPIs and performance reports for leadership, and mentor and provide guidance to planners.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

A Degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering, or a Red Seal trade ticket in a relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

5+ years of maintenance planning experience in mining or heavy industry, including planning for both mobile and fixed equipment; experience mentoring or coordinating planners is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of surface/underground mining and mining process, and related training requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with a CMMS/EAM system (e.g. SAP, Maximo, Oracle, or JD Edwards).
  • Capable of learning and adapting to new equipment and software.

Work Conditions

This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario, with one week per month spent in the Toronto office. In this role you will work a 5X2 rotation.

Local candidates, or those willing to relocate, with relocation assistance, will be given priority for this position.

Compensation and Total Rewards

The base salary range for the Senior Maintenance Planner is $120,000 to $135,000 + Short Term Incentive Bonus, + Group Benefit Coverage.

The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate's experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
