Responsibilities
Responsibilities Innovate on machine learning (ML) algorithms that power recommendation systems, ensuring continuous optimization of TikTok's content ecosystem. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers, to understand requirements and integrate ML solutions into TikTok's platform. Research and develop ML models and algorithms to enhance TikTok's content recommendation systems. Analyze user behavior data to identify patterns and trends that can improve TikTok's content recommendation accuracy. Continuously optimize and fine-tune algorithms based on user feedback and performance metrics. Conduct experiments and A/B testing to evaluate the effectiveness of different TikTok's content recommendation strategies. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in ML and recommend innovative approaches to improve TikTok's content recommendation systems. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the ML infrastructure supporting TikTok's content recommendation functionalities. Collaborate with data engineers to design and maintain data pipelines for processing large-scale datasets. Mentor junior level engineers and interns.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 5 years of post bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Coding using Python or C++; Building end-to-end model training pipelines using Python or Hadoop MapReduce, and training large-scale models using deep learning and machine learning (ML); Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including engineers, data analysts, and quality assurance analysts to drive product implementation; Designing, developing, and implementing advanced machine learning and deep learning models, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques; Project management, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data driven business strategies; and Utilizing Big data framework Spark, Hadoop, or Flink. The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $275850 - $387600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
