Full Job Description
Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Logistics Strategy and Integration Specailist to provide subject matter expertise to the United States Transportation Command's Strategy, Policy, Programs, and Logistics Directorate (USTRANSCOM J4/J5/J7).

The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts to integrate spacelift point-to-point delivery (P2D) of cargo into USTRANSCOM's Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE). The primary objective of this role is to support the integration of spacelift as a fully recognized fourth mode of cargo transportation within the JDDE.

This position focuses on joint-level policy, doctrine, and planning integration, rather than day-to-day operational execution. The Senior Logistics Strategy and Integration Specailist will collaborate with joint, Service, and Combatant Command stakeholders to develop, assess, and implement policy and guidance that enables future spacelift-enabled logistics operations.

This is a remote position with the ability for occasional travel (<25%).

Responsibilities
  • Support joint-level planning efforts related to the integration of spacelift capabilities into the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE)
  • Apply the Joint Planning Process (JPP) to analyze mission requirements, operational concepts, and policy implications associated with spacelift-enabled cargo delivery
  • Conduct DOTMLPF-P analysis to identify capability gaps, risks, and opportunities related to spacelift integration, and develop recommendations to inform policy, doctrine, and capability development
  •
  • Develop, staff, and continuously refine Commander’s Estimates, incorporating evolving guidance, assumptions, constraints, risks, and analytical results throughout the planning lifecycle
  • Develop, review, and coordinate joint doctrine, policy, and service-level guidance in support of spacelift and space mobility initiatives
  • Provide analytic support, including qualitative and quantitative assessments, modeling, simulation, and other analytical tools, to inform senior leader decision-making
  • Design, develop, and execute DoD exercises, wargames, and tabletop events to evaluate spacelift concepts, policies, and operational constructs
  • Coordinate with USTRANSCOM, USSF, the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and other DoD stakeholders to align spacelift planning efforts with joint logistics and mobility frameworks
  • Prepare senior-level briefings, decision papers, reports, and other written products in support of policy development and planning activities
  • Facilitate and support working groups, planning sessions, and stakeholder meetings, both in person and virtually
  • Track, assess, and communicate emerging issues, risks, dependencies, and recommendations related to spacelift integration and joint logistics policy
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, in DoD project leadership, joint planning, transportation, and logistics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (desired)
  • Logistics planning background with demonstrated experience applying the Joint Planning Process (JPP)
  • Staff-level experience at the Joint Staff, Service Headquarters, Major Command (MAJCOM), Agency, and/or Combatant Command (CCMD) level
  • Experience conducting DOTMLPF-P analysis and supporting the development of senior leader decision products, including Commander’s Estimates
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, including the use of analytical and simulation models and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
  • Experience designing and executing DoD exercises, wargames, or tabletop events
  • Experience with, and understanding of, DoD joint operations
  • Understanding of USTRANSCOM roles, issues, and priorities
  • Understanding of United States Space Force (USSF) organization, mission, and operational constructs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing error-free, senior-level correspondence, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports
  • Ability to facilitate high-level meetings and planning sessions with multiple stakeholders, both in person and virtually
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to perform occasional shift work and extended hours, as required
  • Availability for limited travel within CONUS (approximately 10%)
  • Active Secret security clearance required, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI; U.S. citizenship required
