Overview:
We are currently seeking a Sr. Logistics Analyst to join our Supply Chain team. This is a key role in which you will be responsible for organizing, analyzing, and facilitating all facets of inbound/outbound traffic. The ideal candidate is a specialist in the logistics job function, is able to work in a highly independent fashion, and can comfortably take the lead role with complex international logistics projects.
Responsibilities:
Analyzes, validates, and develops optimal logistics and international shipping solutions.
Responsible for processing import and export shipments, including proper packaging, required export/import documentcreation and submission and shipment classification
Works very closely with Operations and Project Management team to achieve shipping schedules.
Leads analysis in providing statistical information to track cost & metric trends.
Develops or maintains tools used to quantify project costs, and prepares statistical data for contract negotiations.
Maintains actual cost data files and logistics budget analysis.
Identifies internal and external metrics.
Identifies innovative continuous improvement opportunities.
Coordinates with internal team to improve efficiency, productivity, and processes.
Supports the Logistics Manager, as needed.
Troubleshoots any issues that may arise in order to make on-time customer deliveries.
Partners regularly with multiple internal teams to achieve goals and work assignments including finance, purchasing,production planning, manufacturing, shipping and receiving, field service, and project management. The Logistics Analyst is required to deal with these numerous stakeholders simultaneously. As such, decisions relative to prioritizing work efforts arecommon.
External customers include suppliers, 3 PL providers, freight forwarders, carriers.
Global internal and external contact required.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree - (Business, Transportation Management, Business Administration, Accounting or related field)Preferred.
Equivalent work experience
Experience: 3-5 plus years related experience in a manufacturing or logistics services environment is required
Candidate Must Have:
Direct experience with supply chain functions and logistics cost drivers for a manufacturing-based company
Knowledgeable in Import and Export laws and regulations, including product classification, ITAR, Incoterms, import and exportdocument filing, record retention requirements
Able to manage multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines
Strong organization, project management and leadership skills to prioritize and manage conflicting needs
Must be flexible; able to adjust to changing business priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong customer focus
Demonstrated leadership capability to work in cross-functional team structures is strongly preferred. Ability to work effectivelyboth as a team member and independently
Strong writing and communication skills
Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite with Excel skills required
Experience with ERP and database system use preferred. Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a strong plus.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Occasional Domestic travel may be required to job sites and logistics service providers: up to 5%
Able to travel regularly between CT locations and offsite warehouses
This position is primarily sedentary. The ability to move between disconnected buildings to attend meetings and to visitwarehouse locations is required.
Must occasionally work in the manufacturing plant or construction site, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)such as safety gloves, hard hats, safety shoes, etc., as designated
Computer work for extended periods of time is also required
The pay for this position ranges from $80000 - $95500.
