Senior Linux Systems Administrator
Position Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems and infrastructure, integrating DevSecOps practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate security controls, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability, reliability, security and conformance to Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
- Simplify, automate and optimize patch management and compliance of Linux operating systems and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Linux systems, with a focus on security and compliance
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to enhance system efficiency, security, and DevSecOps integration
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years or agreed to enter a Continuous Vetting program such that 5 year updates are no longer required
- 5+ years of experience with Operating systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux or SUSE Linux
- 5+ years of experience using PowerShell, Bash, and Python
- 3+ years of experience with cloud computing and/or virtualization technologies (Splunk, VMware)
- Experience with configuration management
- Experience with networks and network communication protocol
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Active certifications in Cloud, INFOSEC, etc.
- Experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
- Experience with automation tools (i.e. Ansible)
- Experience with Windows support and administration in an Active Directory environment
- Experience implementing and managing Containerized systems
- Experience with security and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS/Nessus, STIG's, SCC)
- Experience maintaining enterprise-wide storage and network infrastructure
