Key Responsibilities- Mentor and train Junior System Administrators and System Administrators to develop technical expertise and operational best practices.
- Lead technical projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Manage incident response activities for escalated issues, coordinating resolution and communication as needed.
- Perform the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of internal infrastructure virtual machines (VMs) and services.
- Plan, stage, and deploy platform upgrades and updates across the server fleet.
- Provision and configure software on new nodes to support production and development environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform and customer-reported issues.
- Install, configure, and commission servers by deploying required operating systems, software, and services.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience administering enterprise Linux environments (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, or similar).
- Advanced knowledge of Linux system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages used for automation and infrastructure management.
- Experience deploying and managing virtualization platforms and containerized workloads, including Kubernetes and Libvirt.
- Familiarity with networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS.
- Experience configuring and supporting web servers, databases, caching solutions, and distributed storage platforms such as Ceph.
- Working knowledge of Cumulus Linux, PHP routing, and related infrastructure technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex platform and customer-facing issues.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
Compensation$80,000 - $100,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
