Full Job Description
The candidate will:

  • Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems
  • Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices
  • Install, configure, and manage RHEL and other Linux-based systems
  • Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions
  • Advise leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system operation issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, and process development
  • Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed
  • Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts
  • Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work actions that achieve critical-path requirements
  • Identify documentation errors and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel for correction
  • Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems
  • Perform evening shift work and weekend duty as needed to meet off-hour mission activities


Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 08, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience, which may be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 06, or more, years of directly related experience in IT systems, installing and configuring operating systems and virtual machines, and troubleshooting
  • Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
  • Must have experience with Multi Factor Authentication methodology
  • Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environment
  • Must have administration experience on RHEL 8/9 using Command Line Interface
  • Must be able to interface with software engineers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to solve complex integration and technical problems
  • Must have a current DoW approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE
  • Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance


Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience working with Ansible automation
  • Have experience configuring and managing NetApp storage devices
  • Have experience with security patching and software management using RHEL Satellite
  • Have network troubleshooting experience
  • Have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
  • Have Project Management experience
  • Have a Degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline


This position is expected to pay $125,000 - $140,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position
