Senior Linear Utility Design Engineer

Newport News, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Jacksonville, FL; Hampstead, NC - Regular Full-Time

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Linear Utility Design Engineer to join our consulting team. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with 10+ years of experience delivering planning and design solutions for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help shape critical community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pump stations, storage systems, pipelines, and related utility improvements.
  • Prepare or oversee engineering reports, technical specifications, construction drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Manage projects through design and provide support during bidding and construction phases.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, design oversight, and quality control for project deliverables.
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff and contribute to team development.
  • Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and business development efforts.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.


About You
