Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Lighting Designer!

We're looking for a talented Senior Lighting Designer who is passionate about design, enjoys collaborating with architects and engineers, and is ready to take ownership of projects from concept through construction.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and contribute to lighting design projects from concept through construction administration.
  • Develop creative lighting concepts, presentations, renderings, and client design packages.
  • Prepare lighting layouts, fixture specifications, schedules, and design documentation.
  • Perform lighting calculations and energy compliance analyses using AGi32 or Dialux.
  • Coordinate with architects, interior designers, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings, design presentations, site visits, mock-ups, and fixture aiming.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to contractor inquiries, and support construction administration activities.
  • Stay current with emerging lighting technologies, products, and industry trends while maintaining relationships with manufacturers and industry partners.


What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design or a related field, including Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Theatrical Lighting.
  • 4-7 years of professional lighting design experience.
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles, fixture selection, and lighting controls.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency with AGi32 or Dialux.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SketchUp, Rhino, or other 3D modelling software is considered an asset.
  • NCQLP Lighting Certification (LC), Certified Lighting Designer (CLD), or involvement with IES, IALD, or other professional organizations is considered an asset.
