[Summary]
• Senior HR leadership role to build and own the entire HR function for a rapidly growing national beauty retail brand headquartered in Dallas, TX, operating 100+ stores nationwide.
• Set HR strategy and lead multi-state compliance, total rewards, employee relations, and HRIS/payroll (ADP) across a large, geographically dispersed retail workforce.
• Ideal for a strategic yet hands-on HR leader ready to shape policy, scale the function, and partner directly with executive leadership through a high-growth phase.
[Key Responsibilities]
• Define and execute the company-wide HR strategy aligned with rapid, multi-state retail growth.
• Own and continuously strengthen the compliance program across federal, state, and local employment laws for 100+ retail locations in multiple states.
• Oversee the HRIS and payroll infrastructure via ADP, ensuring multi-state payroll integrity, tax allocation, reporting, and data governance.
• Lead employee relations strategy - objective investigations, progressive discipline, PIPs, and compliant terminations - and coach regional and store leadership.
• Design and manage total rewards: benefits strategy, open enrollment, PTO, and competitive compensation frameworks.
• Develop, maintain, and modernize HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks; lead change management as the company scales.
• Build, mentor, and (as the function grows) lead HR and field-support staff; partner with leadership on workforce planning, talent management, and culture.
• Serve as executive-level HR point of contact for urgent field or employee relations matters, including responsiveness during peak retail periods.
[Skills & Qualifications]
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's/MBA or SPHR/SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years in an HR leadership role; multi-site retail or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership of an HR function (strategy and operations), ideally building or scaling HR for a growing multi-state organization.
• Hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience required; able to own HRIS/payroll for a multi-state, W-2 hourly and salaried workforce.
• Deep multi-state employment law expertise (wage, hour, and leave) and a track record of mitigating employer risk through structured investigations and disciplinary protocols.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Dallas, TX, with flexibility for weekend on-call availability during high-volume retail hours.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence and advise at all levels, including the C-suite.
