Position Title: Senior Legal Administrative Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Administrative Assistant to provide high-level support within a busy commercial litigation practice. This role partners closely with attorneys to manage complex litigation matters, oversee court filings, prepare sophisticated legal documents, coordinate case progression, and mentor junior legal support staff. This position is well suited for a seasoned litigation professional who thrives in a demanding environment, enjoys taking ownership of complex work, and excels at supporting attorneys while helping develop the broader legal support team. This individual will be a highly organized commercial litigation professional with extensive experience handling complex state and federal litigation matters, exceptional document management skills, and the leadership ability to mentor junior legal administrative staff.

Salary: $110,000-$120,000+ DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in a commercial litigation practice
  • Manage complex litigation files from inception through final disposition
  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare and manage state and federal court filings
  • Maintain attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, and case schedules
  • Coordinate new client intake, conflicts, billing, expense reports, and travel arrangements
  • Create and maintain electronic case files and document management systems
  • Prepare engagement letters and conflict waivers
  • Monitor billing, trust accounts, financial reports, and attorney time entries
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and client communications
  • Utilize NetDocs, Elite, BigHand, DocuSign, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Train and mentor junior Legal Administrative Assistants and Legal Support Assistants
  • Collaborate across the litigation support team to balance workloads and improve processes
  • Anticipate attorneys' needs and proactively manage priorities

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of complex commercial litigation experience
  • Extensive experience with both state and federal e-filing
  • Strong experience preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with document management systems such as NetDocs or NetDocuments
  • Experience with time and billing software
  • Ability to manage billing, new client intake, file maintenance, travel arrangements, and expense reimbursements
  • Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring junior legal support staff
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Experience with Elite is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
