About the Team
The Business Acceleration & Strategic Initiatives function at S&P Dow Jones Indices partners with Division leadership on the most critical strategic questions facing the business while also driving initiatives that make the organization more effective. The work is project-based and episodic — the team flexes across themes rather than owning fixed lanes.
This is the first senior hire into the function, offering a rare opportunity to help shape both the strategic agenda and the operating model of a high-visibility team inside a market-leading business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of the function, the Senior Strategy Lead will run strategic projects end-to-end. This is an "athlete" role — not a specialist position.
You will:
- Lead strategic projects end-to-end under the direction of the function head: framing the problem, designing the workplan, driving analysis, synthesizing findings, and delivering executive-ready communication
- Collaborate broadly across S&P DJI and the wider S&P Global organization, working with senior stakeholders to move initiatives forward
- Co-build the team's operating model, including contributing to the design and deployment of agentic tooling as a standing analytical capability
- Operate hands-on in a lean team structure; you should expect to execute the work yourself, not just direct others
What You'll Bring
Experience & Background
- 5 6 years of full-time professional experience, including 2 3 years post-MBA.
- Current or recent tenure as an Engagement Manager / Case Team Leader (or equivalent) at a top-tier strategy consultancy: McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or comparable (e.g., Oliver Wyman, Parthenon/EY, Casey Quirk/Deloitte)
- Substantial engagement experience in financial services, financial data, asset management, or capital markets
- Direct experience leading client-facing engagements end-to-end: scoping, workplan design, analysis, recommendation development, and executive presentation
Capabilities
- Exceptional problem-structuring, analytical, and executive communication skills
- Demonstrated AI-native orientation 6 with specific examples of using AI tools to change how you work, not just what you produce.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling capability (a plus; pre-MBA banking experience is a nice-to-have)
- Comfort operating with autonomy in a lean team where senior people execute the work
