We're looking for a seasoned IT professional to be the sole IT presence in our Austin office. You'll handle the full spectrum of end-user support - from tickets to infrastructure - and own the experience for everyone in the building. Day-to-day you operate independently; your escalation path is directly to the Senior Director of Applied AI.
This role requires someone who has seen what great looks like, can work through ambiguous problems without being walked through them, and brings genuine curiosity about using AI and automation to make the work better over time.
What You'll Do- Own the full lifecycle of endpoint management - provisioning, deployment, configuration, and decommissioning - across our macOS fleet using Kandji
- Administer and maintain our identity and access management platform (Okta), including SSO, MFA, provisioning/deprovisioning, and group policy
- Manage SaaS application administration across Google Workspace, Slack, and adjacent tools - licenses, integrations, access governance
- Execute IT onboarding and offboarding - provision accounts, deploy hardware, and ensure clean deprovisioning when employees leave
- Own network and AV infrastructure for the Austin office, including meeting room setup, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination
- Maintain IT asset inventory - hardware, peripherals, software licenses - with accuracy and discipline
- Drive documentation: build and maintain runbooks, onboarding guides, and KB articles the team can actually use
- Partner with Security and Compliance on SOC 2 and related audits - you know what's in-scope and why, and you handle configuration changes accordingly
- Serve as the escalation point for IT team members in other offices - you're the person they call when they've hit their ceiling on a problem
- Spot manual, repetitive processes and take a swing at automating them - scripts, AI tools, or workflow automation; you don't need to be asked
RequirementsWhat You'll Bring- 5+ years of experience as an IT Administrator in a macOS-first environment
- Deep hands-on experience with Kandji (or comparable MDM: Jamf, Mosyle) - you've built blueprints, diagnosed enrollment failures, and debugged app deployment issues
- Strong Okta administration experience: group rules, provisioning, lifecycle management, and MFA policy
- Solid command of Google Workspace admin, including org units, group policies, and delegated access
- Hands-on experience with Meraki or comparable managed networking gear - you can configure APs, switches, and VLANs without calling a specialist
- Familiarity with SOC 2 / PCI compliance concepts: scope vs. out-of-scope systems, least privilege, access reviews
- Genuinely self-directed - given a goal, you execute without check-ins, flag blockers early, and drive issues to resolution on your own.
- Excellent communication skills - you can translate a technical problem into plain English for an exec who's frustrated their laptop won't connect five minutes before an all-hands
- Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work and curious about where they can reduce toil - drafting documentation, triaging tickets, scripting faster
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash) or familiarity with workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, etc.) is a plus
