The Role

The Senior Lead Finance Analyst supports the organization's Corporate Finance team, helping drive the planning, forecasting, and day-to-day management of Working Capital and Free Cash Flow. This consulting-level finance professional will partner closely with leadership, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Procurement, Operations and other business stakeholders to manage the Company's free cash flow against both near and long-term business objectives.

The successful candidate will bring strong FP&A expertise, proficiency in accounting principles, advanced analytical capabilities, and a deep knowledge of working capital management. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in working across functions and influencing different teams. This role offers the opportunity to help drive strategic decision-making while providing financial guidance on cash management.

The Main Responsibilities

• Lead Working Capital budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for a Fortune 500 infrastructure and technology company serving as the trusted network for AI
• Analyze monthly actuals, compare results against budget and forecast, identify key drivers of variance, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Treasury and Business Operations teams to align cash management strategies, options, and required actions
• Enhance Lumen's relationships with our key strategic customers, including hyperscalers and neoclouds that support Lumen's $13 billion Private Connectivity Fabric pipeline, and our vendors through working capital management
• Develop, improve and automate financial metrics and models, reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve decision-making and visibility
• Evaluate spending trends, vendor commitments, average daily collections and past due A/R to support Working Capital planning accuracy
• Present financial insights, recommendations, and business cases to senior and executive leadership
• Lead the development and delivery of finance technology solutions, including ERP systems, enterprise reporting platforms, and AI-enabled analytics capabilities
• Serve as a finance advisor on complex cross-functional initiatives, influencing outcomes and driving strategic decisions

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• 8 years of experience in FP&A, Accounting, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Advanced skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting
• Proven ability to solve complex business problems using analytical and quantitative approaches
• Strong communication and presentation skills with experience delivering insights to senior stakeholders
• Experience managing projects or initiatives from concept through implementation
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on complex assignments
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive-level stakeholders

Preferred

• Direct experience managing Working Capital for a large company, leveraging both the Direct and Indirect calculation methods
• Experience with active Free Cash Flow management to align results with both internal and external targets at quarter and year end
• Experience developing reporting solutions, dashboards, or financial tools from the ground up
• Demonstrated professional curiosity and a track record of analytical thinking
• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$105,786 - $141,047 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
$111,074 - $148,099 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$116,364 - $155,152 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
