The Opportunity - Build the Future with Us

Join WSP's Alberta Landscape Architecture & Urban Design team as a Senior Landscape Architect, supporting our expanding Strategic Advisory, Planning, Landscape Architecture + Urban Design practice. Based in Edmonton, this role is ideal for a creative, collaborative designer with a passion for the profession and demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through completion.

As a senior member of the Landscape Architecture & Urban Design team, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects in a leadership role while helping to win new work through active involvement in proposals and project delivery. Our work spans the private, public, and institutional sectors, delivering environmentally responsible, socially conscious, high-quality design across Canada. You will contribute to projects of varying scale and complexity, including urban revitalization, master planning, parks and public spaces, complete streets, multi-use trails, transit facilities, infrastructure, land development, and ecologically based landscapes. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate frequently with Landscape Architecture teams across Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg, supporting work throughout Western Canada.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Full Member in Good Standing with the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA) or equivalent provincial association, with professional seal.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture.
  • Strong technical capability across design development and construction documentation, including site design, grading, planting design, detailing, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with sound financial and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to prepare and lead proposal development efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting design ideas to clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Proficiency in core design and administrative software (CAD, Adobe, Microsoft Office).
  • Willingness to perform field work, conduct site visits, and observe construction activities.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.


Assets considered an advantage:
  • ISA Certification.
  • Experience with Civil 3D, SketchUp, Lumion, Revit, Rhino, and GIS.
  • Additional credentials in Accessible Design, Environmental Stewardship, or related specialties.
  • Fluency in a second language (French considered an asset).
  • Demonstrated commitment to community involvement and continuous learning.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
